Moore County and horses have become synonymous over the past for decades, and for good reason. Moore County Driving Club is the oldest in the country and plays host to several competitive events each year. There are also events such as the annual Stoney Brook Steeplechase, run at the Carolina Horse Park in neighboring Hoke County. The Sandhills also hosts clubs such as the Moore County Hounds, which celebrates Thanksgiving each year with the Ceremonial Blessing of the Hounds.

But over the years, there has been a great appreciation of what is available to all the residents of Moore County and beyond. The Walthour-Moss Foundation is truly a unique concept. With over 4,000 acres of land dedicated to the equestrian activities, it’s not hard to see why so many people envy the area. Pelham Farms is located adjacent to the Foundation with multiple lots sharing borders with it.

With its peace and serenity, you’ll be able to enjoy riding or driving your horses in a setting that you won’t find anywhere else in the world! Whether you’re a competitive rider/driver or just enjoy the lifestyle and companionship, the Sandhills offers endless possibilities. With its year round climate that is conducive to equestrian activities, it’s no wonder the Sandhills has quickly become known as “horse country.”
